The latest Land Registry figures show the value of semi-detached homes rose by 5.6% over the year, resulting in a rise in house prices across the UK.
Figures show UK property prices increased by 5.1% over the year and by 0.9% from March to April.
Prices rose the fastest in London (up 10.9%) and in the South East of England (up 8.8%). This is not a country wide trend however, we can note significant regional differences. The slowest annual property price growth for example was in Wales, up only 0.3%.
“The property market in Wales and the North East is a million miles away from the south-east corner of England,” added Jonathan Samuels, chief executive of Dragonfly Property Finance.
